Thank you to all who joined @naomiwhiteart and myself at @keystoneartla Spring Open Studios! Here is a short reel generously created by @ericminhswenson who documented the whole building of 50 artists for us that evening. Naomi and I have exhibited together and Open Studios becomes a fabulous opportunity for us to bring our work together in dialogue. Take a gander and works of old and new!
Join for Open Studios TONIGHT in Los Angeles at Keystone Art Space in Lincoln Heights. I will be featuring etchings and photo polymers on paper created while in residency at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley. Some beautiful studies never shared will also be available unframed.
You can see the three primary series here:

LOS ANGELES—Track 16 Gallery is pleased to announce the May 2nd opening of Lane Barden’s This Was the Landscape of Our Innocence at our Downtown gallery at 1206 Maple Avenue, Suite 100 on the 1st Floor of the Bendix Building.
There has a been a tradition in San Francisco going back to the 1970s of artists taking over hotel rooms- from perhaps the more organic to the organized- I have great memories of attending the Phoenix Hotel for ArtPad back in the day. The StartUp continues in that paradigm.
It was great to build out this installation a couple weeks ago at the @startupartfair in San Francisco. The chance to covert a space and present a new vision was a tremendous opportunity. I wanted to thank @raybeldner for the opportunity and all the great staff of the Fair and Hotel Del Sol. Two new series were integrated into this presentation. I appreciate this documentation by Eric Minh Swenson!
Stay tuned for developments from this one!
The Brooklyn Review’s Artist Spotlight Series: Beth Davila Waldman’s “Place/Displace” @waldmanarts
Born in Princeton, NJ in 1975, Beth Davila Waldman earned two degrees at Wellesley College and the San Francisco Art Institute with a focus on site specific public projects. Based in California since 1997, Waldman’s art practice excavates our current socio-economic and political landscape with a dialogue between image, paint & material. She has studios in Los Angeles and Mill Valley.
Thank you to everyone who joined me at @startupartfair Friday for our grand opening and yesterday for a full day from 12-9pm! TODAY the Fair is open 12-7pm. Come by ROOM 321 to see my latest installation and first viewing of my EXTENDED SHELTERS series started originally in my @bendixbuilding studio, continued at my current LA studio in LA at @keystoneartla and finalized this spring in my Mill Valley based studio.
