We’re looking for speakers 🌿 After Episode 1 on mental health and Episode 2 on physical health, we’re continuing our Walking & Health series with a focus on emotional health. In a time that feels increasingly uncertain, we want to open space for emotions that are often labeled as “negative.” Even within these, some are more socially accepted than others. Walking with grief, for example, is deeply embedded in many cultures — think of collective mourning and funeral processions. But what about walking with anger? Is protest the only form it takes? What other ways can we walk with anger, alone or together? And what might emerge from it? If this resonates with your practice, we’d love to hear from you. DM us to tell us about your work and you may be invited to join our panel. Each session brings together 4 speakers, with equal time to share, followed by an open discussion. “Danzar o morir” — to dance or to die. We are excited for the third publication of a WALC article at Anima Loci journal @anima_loci . In the Sierra Tarahumara of Mexico, the Ralámuli people move across vast canyon paths through long-distance running and ceremonial dance—practices that do not simply express life, but sustain it. In this new article, Sylvie Marchand @sylviegigacircus opens a layered dialogue between the voice of Ralámuli poet Erasmo Palma and the writings of Antonin Artaud, who passed through the Sierra in 1936. A text about movement as survival, healing, and cosmology. 🔗 Read the full article here /danzar-o-morir-on-the-sierra-tarahumara-paths/ #WALC #WalkingArt #EmbodiedKnowledge #Ralámuli #ArtAndCommunity #WalkingAsPractice #IndigenousKnowledge #SierraTarahumara

We had a fantastic session yesterday! As part of the session dedicated to walking and gender, we took a walk where we noticed what elements in our environment show presence or absence of care. Together, we imagined ways to restore care in our environments and we are happy to continue the conversation with our audience. What shows care in your environment? Leave a comment with an example of care in your environment and where you are reporting from. See you next week with a new walc course session! Thank you Federica Rocchi @federoc80 and Katerina Pistola @katerina.pistola for this beautiful session.

The session is scheduled to include a walkshop that urges us to trace care practices in our environments, so get ready for a walk session followed by a reflection! We will finish with a brief presentation from Babak Fakhamzadeh on how to use the platform walk · listen · create @walklistencreate and make the best use of its online community. See you on Saturday!

We are delighted to share the second publication on Anima Loci✨ “GrandTourists of the 21st century. A 300km participatory art walk” by Clara Gari @claracoclea and Nau Côclea @naucoclea is now out. Grand Tour is a three-week walking art project where artists journey together across diverse landscapes, creating through shared experience. Without fixed outcomes, it merges art and life, guided by key collaborators, evolving practices, and a nomadic spirit rooted in community, exploration, and presence. We are proud to continue this publication journey with such an inspiring and meditative contribution. 🔗 Read it here: /grandtourists-of-the-21st-century/

TWB x MEAV: Learning without Teaching An inspiring session with the 1st-year MA in Visual Arts Teaching (2025/2026) cohort. We challenged the traditional role of the teacher: how can we foster learning without “teaching”? How can we guide without positioning ourselves as the sole holders of knowledge? A huge thank you to our guests for helping us explore these new pedagogical horizons: Anna Lehtelä (FIN), Geert Vermeire (BE), Miguel B. Duarte & Natacha Antão (PT), and the ReRouting duo, Clementine Butler-Gallie (GB) & Viviane Tabach (BR). Thank you for such a rich conversation on the art of learning together! #learningeveryday #artist #visualarts #walking #sharing
