Maya’s Legacy Whale Watching is currently nominated through USA Today for the #1 whale watching company in the United States, and I’m incredibly proud to be part of this team. Many of you have been out on the water with Maya’s Legacy and know how special these trips are — the whales, the wildlife, the San Juan Islands, and the kind of moments that stay with you long after the boat gets back to the dock. Your vote would mean the world to all of us. Voting is simple: click the link in the bio, tap one button, and that’s it. No email, no phone number, no personal information needed. Just one quick vote. You can vote once a day for the next week and a half, and every single vote truly helps. Thank you so much for supporting Maya’s Legacy Whale Watching, and thank you as always for following along with Wake Up To Adventure.

There's nothing quite like the thrill of capturing an intimate moment between a magnificent whale and calf in its natural habitat through the lens of my camera. The sheer size and grace of these majestic creatures in their wild habitat is a sight to behold, and capturing their beauty through photography is a true honor. As a photographer, there's no greater challenge than trying to capture the essence of a wild whale, navigating the unpredictable conditions of the ocean to get that perfect shot. Photographing whales in the wild is an experience like no other, a chance to connect with nature and witness the power and beauty of these incredible animals up close. Each photograph I take is a testament to the power of nature, and a reminder of our responsibility to protect these magnificent creatures and their habitats. With every shot I take. I'm reminded of just how small we are in comparison to the vastness of the natural world, and how lucky we are to be able to witness its wonders firsthand. There's something truly magical about capturing the playful spirit of a whale in its natural environment, a moment frozen in time that brings joy to countless others who see it. To photograph a whale in its natural habitat is to bear witness to a powerful and humbling experience, and to create art that can inspire and educate others about the importance of protecting our oceans and their inhabitants. As a photographer, I feel incredibly privileged to have the opportunity to capture the magic of whales in the wild, to share their beauty with the world, and to help raise awareness of the need to protect these incredible creatures for future generations. Thank you again for following along! #wakeuptoadventure

We get one shot to be here. To chase wonder. To stand in awe. To love hard. To adventure while we still can. I try every single day to feel that wonder and excitement of life, not just exist through it. Moments like this remind me how special this place is. #wakeuptoadventure

A small boat. A full-grown male. One of those moments that makes human scale disappear instantly. That dorsal looks almost impossible beside the boat, and then the power shifts again—the tail throw, the breath, the quiet authority of another orca rising behind it. Nothing staged, just wild power showing itself for a few seconds and leaving everyone on board a little smaller than before. Sharing these moments with people who had only dreamed of seeing orcas until then is something truly special. #wakeuptoadventure #wuta
