WakeNZ is pleased to announce the selection of the following riders to the New Zealand Wakeboard Team
This team is hand picked based on age group and open categories, with the intention to compete at the IWWF World Wakeboard Championships in Italy later this year. Rider selection was earned through season-long results, commitment to riding and progression and their ability to represent New Zealand on the world stage.
Please join us in congratulating our riders on their well deserved appointments.
With daylight saving wrapping up and Nationals all done and dusted last weekend, the 2026 competition season is officially in the books. And what a season it’s been epic highs, huge growth across divisions, and progression coming from every direction. Safe to say the level of riding has been going off.
None of this happens without our sponsors. We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support you give to the Wake NZ scene even when times are tough, you still show up for us time and time again. It genuinely means a lot, and we’re stoked to have you on board. Words don’t quite do it justice.
To our riders, volunteers, helpers, judges, and committee absolute legends. The season ran smoothly (which is no small feat), and that’s down to every one of you stepping up and playing your part. There is no comp scene without you, simple as that.👊🏻
So on that note, a massive thank you from me. Nothing but respect for you all.
PS: Don’t get too comfortable over winter… we’ve got a few things brewing 👀 and we’ll definitely still need your support.
From yours Truly El Presidente 🤘🏻.

📍Lake Maraetai, Managakino 🗓️ March 27th & 28th
What an end to another amazing season.
It wouldn’t be nationals without some wild weather, but as always, we pulled together and made the comp happen.
Massive thanks to:
@surfskiridenz for their incredible support and supplying the beautiful Nautique G23 and Matrix MXV tow boats for the comp.
The Wake NZ Committee and all the volunteers for all the work that goes in to making these comps happen.
All of our sponsors who support Wake NZ.
The Mangakino Club for hosting our AGM and Prize Giving.
And of course to all our riders, their friends and families.
Without you, we wouldn’t have this amazing community.
You are what drives us to keep doing what we do and we love the community we’ve created together.
Congratulations to all our riders who competed, and a special congrats to all our prize winners.
We look forward to seeing you all again next season!
