I take the subway to work. I have a favorite coffee shop. I have relearned what it means to be cold… like real cold. 6 new tattoos are on my body. No, I’m not wearing real winter boots. I play more pool than I should but I am still very bad at it. I have a favorite bagel order and a favorite dive bar. I still don’t know how to hail a cab. 365 days. A whole damn year. In New York.

Solid year spent left, right, and in the middle. Grateful doesn’t sum it up. (Miss you, Vic. Hope your wheels are full of air) Cheers to this next one, yall ❤️🤘🏻
My apartment is now fully furnished. I know how to take the subway (but still convincing myself to actually take it even when @alysonruz isn’t in town) I am relearning what humidity is. No, I am not wearing shorts. I can walk myself home without directions. There are exactly 39 steps up to my door. I know the difference between the Hudson and East River but can’t point you to which way North is. I have a favorite airport and a solid farmer’s tan. I still don’t know how to hail a cab. 165 days in New York.
I’ve spent the last 7.5 years in Los Angeles. The longest I’ve ever stayed in one place. I have made the best friends, some questionable decisions, and a truly beautiful little life that I love. I’ve grown up so much and am forever changed because I was able to call this weird, traffic filled, dirty, beautiful city home. Thank you for everything, LA. And to all the beautiful souls I met here, thank you for making me who I am. I’m not going to say goodbye. Just see you later. New York, I’m not sure what this next chapter looks like but I’m excited to find out. I’ll catch ya on the flip side, west coast. Happy Valentine’s Day, LA. Thanks for all the love ❤️🌴 (this is in the bathroom at the Prince. It always looked like California to me. If it’s not, don’t tell me and let me pretend plz and thank you)
Of all the hats I’ve had the pleasure of wearing, Gay is a pretty important one. It took a while for me to be able to wear it proudly but, now that we’re here, I wouldn’t change it for the world. Happy Pride to all my friends in, out, or unsure. Wear whatever hat you want, I will love you the same. Forever and always. ❤️🏳️🌈
