So hi hello! My name is A.P. and I am a Minneapolis-based interdisciplinary artist working across performance, music, textiles (flags!) and other mediums! I’ve performed all over town and my flags can be spotted across South Minneapolis and at ceremonial events. My practice really took off when I got sober nearly 11 years ago and art making thus became a way of life. I don’t know who I’d be without a chaotic mess of materials in front of me or a fountain of ideas spewing from my brain right before bed. Most of my performance and music draws from a well of deeply personal experience. My flags often reflect queerness on some level—following in the footsteps of Gilbert Baker and Monica Helms.
I am also an Akashic Record Practitioner. The Akasha is a sphere of consciousness that holds all unconditional love for your soul. I offer 1:1 readings to help offer loving clarity of issues in your life that need support and a new angle of compassionate perspective. Link in my bio to book.

I captured some video clips as well from yesterday’s May Day Parade in Minneapolis, it really did feel special and so positive - everyone there was feeling the energy. There’s been so much positive feedback and love from the images I posted yesterday (thank you 🙏🏼). However, there was a lot of negativity as well, mostly on Facebook, which is where the trolls reside, I guess. It boggles the mind that someone can view these images and not feel a sense of joy. A sense that together, as a people, regardless of sex, race, age…whatever, that we’re all connected and striving towards making this world a better place.
Look, here’s the thing, haters are gonna hate - that’s something everyone, throughout history has dealt with, but love and compassion will win out, it always does. Ignore the hate, instead know that you all are on the right side of history - particularly here in Minneapolis. Keep doing what you’re doing folks, truly you are an inspiration to so many. #minneapolis #mayday #maydayparade

5x9 Raquel Willis black stripe trans flag. Have been in a grant writing gauntlet (among other gauntlets those of us in Minnesota have been in) since December and finally had time to finish this flag. More flags to come.
I raised their names up above us so that maybe they can watch over us and protect us. So that maybe when you look up to find the moon on a clear night, you will find their spirit and their memory. It is one thing to say their names. It is another to sew their names upon a flag: hours spent cutting out the letters, sprawled out on the floor basting them on the fabric, tracing the outline of each letter with thread—it’s like sounding out their names in a full-bodied form of pronunciation. I cried while I sewed. I finished Renee’s flag last Saturday. Alex was murdered a week later.
It is a true honor to make these flags and I pray I pray I pray I do not have to make any more. I pray I pray I pray for this to stop. I pray I pray I pray for a future free from this suffering, free from this murderousness, this oppression, this exploitation, this dismemberment of community and family. I pray I pray I pray for us to look out for us, for us to carry forward a new future, for us to form the world we desperately need. I know we are capable. I know we can. I know I know I know because I feel I feel I feel it.

Hey! I made these colorful bags to share with you. They are handmade, 18 oz cotton duck exterior, 10 oz duck lining interior with heavy duty nylon handles. (One is made of seatbelt handles). Aka VERY STURDY! All sewn with yellow T-92 thread.
I feel like one of my purposes in life is maybe to share brightness and the wisdom of color. To embrace the irreverence and novelty of life. Most things made these days are drab because they appeal to more people (apparently?).
