📣The 2026 CRAFTED Call for Artists is officially open! 📣 And we’ve got exciting developments to share! CRAFTED programming is now taking place in September and November. More info below. This year’s CRAFTED on the Catwalk will build on last year’s partnership with CBC as we celebrate the international success of the hit APTN, CBC and Netflix series North of North! CRAFTED on the Catwalk will take place on September 15 with an exclusive one-day NORTH OF NORTH Market on September 16 highlighting designers and artists whose work appears in the series. Artists travelling from the North to participate in CRAFTED on the Catwalk will be vending at this exclusive event. Artists from North and South are invited to apply to CRAFTED on the Catwalk. The signature CRAFTED: Show + Sale returns November 6-8, where visitors can shop from 100 craft artists throughout all four floors of the Gallery. Since 2015, CRAFTED: Show + Sale has been Winnipeg’s leading contemporary craft sale, drawing thousands of visitors and approximately $450,000 in sales for artists annually. To support artists, CRAFTED maintains accessible participation fees and artists keep 100% of the profit from their sales. CRAFTED offers artists an opportunity to connect with shoppers, while building relationships with fellow makers from across the country. CRAFTED is proud to partner once again with @manitobacraft , Nunavut Development Corporation, @nwtartstno , @aumaaggiivik , and the Nunatsiavut Government ❤️. As we prepare for CRAFTED to grow this year, we are taking some steps to streamline our communications. Starting next month all CRAFTED stories and event updates will be shared through our @shopwag account. If you aren’t already following @shopwag , now is the time to start! 👀 Visit wag.ca/crafted to access the application guide and apply now! Deadline to submit is 11:59pm on May 31, 2026. #CRAFTED #CRAFTED2026 #CRAFTEDontheCatwalk #NorthofNorth #FashionShow

Special delivery to our friends at @museumlondon 📦 Congratulations to @dominiquerey.art as her exhibition MOTHERGROUND opens in London, Ontario this weekend, just in time for Mother’s Day, following its unforgettable debut in Winnipeg in 2024/25. Our team has been hard at work getting all the artworks packed up and shipped! Thank you @canada.council for supporting the tour of this powerful exhibition curated by @anecdotia , one of the first of its kind in a Canadian context to thoroughly meditate on the subject of motherhood. We are grateful to Michael Nesbitt and our supporters in Winnipeg who helped make the organization of the original exhibition possible. Thank you @dominiquerey.art and family for your incredible collaboration. London, prepare to be captivated by this mesmerizing show and artist 💌 #atwag #MothergroundbyDominiqueRey #MuseumLondon

Today, on Red Dress Day, we honour and remember Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2Spirit+ people. Sisters in Spirit (2025), created by Iris Lauzon @iriselauzon (Inniniw, York Factory), stands as a powerful act of remembrance, resilience, and love. Made with satin, silk, chiffon, quill, caribou tufting, dyed bone, vinyl, and glass seed beads, the work carries both material and meaning- each detail a reflection of lives that must never be forgotten. Created for Manitoba Moon Voices @manitobamoonvoicesinc , the dress honours those taken too soon and the families and communities who continue to carry their stories. Its name, gifted by Beverley Courchene, speaks to connection, spirit, and collective memory. At WAG-Qaumajuq, we stand in remembrance, in solidarity, and in commitment to supporting efforts to making the community safer for Indigenous women, girls and 2Spirit+ people. 👗 Iris Lauzon.
