Warrick Bruan â Making and Aging
An overarching exhibit consisting of three projects created from 2025â2026, The Graphic Patina Project, The Interstitial Project and 70 Days of Type: Taag.Â
The Graphic Patina Project is a series of books focusing on material studies, specifically how environmental graphic design ages on wood, masonry, and metal. Each book is mounted on handmade plinths and display boxes, with the intent of better connecting with each material showcased in the books.
The Interstitial Project is a study of how graphic design can be used to explore the meaning of the word interstitial, meaning âthe space in betweenâ. The project visualizes 2D, 3D, 4D, and reflective pieces revolving around the chosen interpretation of the word, interstitial spaces, or âthe space between destinations.Â
70 Days of Type: Taag explores the results of making one typographic form a day, for 70 days. The word is a random combination of letters, and eventually the exploration is broken down into individual letters within the form. Once the 70 forms were complete, each letter/form is laser engraved on squares of 3mm basswood ply, each square displaying one form on each side.Â
Between all 3 projects, I chose to display them all together because of the overarching theme of craft and physical and tactile experience in design. In a world where graphic design is associated with digital work, I found that approaching my projects in this way gave me an attachment and appreciation for them in a way that would not have been possible if I had just done the work digitally and outsourced the physical deliverables, or even ignored the physical deliverables in general.

Some of my favourite photographs from 2025
01-12/2025
I think 2025 was the biggest year yet in terms of photography for me, and it was so hard to choose only 12 images out of the thousands Iâve taken.
Its amazing how much just having a camera with you can urge you to get out there and explore places that wouldnât have even caught your eye otherwise, I think I can no longer go anywhere if I donât have a camera on me hehe..
The community has been so kind to me, this year I started to go on photowalks, interact with photographers online, and put myself and my work out there more, my only regret is that I didnât do it sooner.
I canât wait to see what happens this year, I hope I continue to meet new people, make new pictures, and keep learning in 2026 !!!
