FILM AND DISCUSSION EVENING — Saturday, 12 July, 7pm On Saturday, 12 July, we’re hosting a screening of the video work "Unspoken: Words of Silence and Noise" by Wachtang Tscheischwili at Kulturfabrik Moabit. The video explores the role of youth, subcultures, queer cultural aesthetics, and club movements in Georgia, and how they have shaped the struggle for democracy and state sovereignty. In episodic chronology, it traces the dynamics of cultural self-assertion in the context of historical events – from the brief period of the First Democratic Republic (1918–1921), through the repressive decades of Soviet dictatorship and the post-Soviet crises and wars of the 1990s, up to the present day. The director weaves together archival footage, personal stories, electronic music, and visual memory. The work also raises questions about belonging, visibility, and remembrance — in the context of post-Soviet transformations as well as in light of current authoritarian tendencies. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director and speakers from the Georgian activist group @gza.europe among others. Everyone is warmly invited — Admission is free, and no registration is required.

"Sacred Monsters" - Nino Haratischwili Was sind "heilige Monster?" Was in Tiflis geschieht, betrifft uns alle. #ninoharatischwili #sacredmonsters #solidaritywithgeorgia #supportgeorgia #sakartvelo #georgia #საქართველო #theater #თეატრი #georgiaiseurope🇬🇪🇪🇺

untitled tbilisi, together with our colleagues in Berlin, invite you to an art event and discussion focusing on Georgia’s fight for freedom, democracy, and its role in global politics. Organised by Elza Javakhishvili, Gvantsa G., Wache Tcheischwili 📅 Date: Tuesday, December 10th ⏰ Time: 19:00–22:00 📍 Location: Panda Platform,  Knaackstraße 97, 10435 Berlin The event is free of charge, but we are launching a fundraising campaign for Georgian artists who are currently on the frontlines of the fight against autocracy. Please follow this link to support our friends and colleagues. Program Highlights: Panel Discussion: 19:00–20:00 Artists on the Frontline for Georgia's Freedom and Democracy Film Screening & Video Installation: 20:00–20:45 Unspoken – Words of Silence and Noise by Wacho Tscheischwili Video Installation by Dato Koridze Live Music Performance: 21:00–22:00 Nana Ios, Lila Veil and Nino Davadze Why It Matters: Georgia is facing an existential battle against a Russian-backed oppressive regime. Blatantly rigged elections in October have dismantled democracy and silenced the voices of the Georgian people. Courageous protests are breaking out across all major cities, with the centre of the movement being led by young artists and activists. Many of these brave individuals are queer artists, standing at the forefront of resistance against tyranny. The regime’s response has been brutal.  The streets of Tbilisi have become battlegrounds, with police deploying tear gas, rubber bullets, and violent crackdowns. Hundreds of peaceful demonstrators have been arrested, many brutally beaten, simply for demanding justice and new election.  Most artists are currently on strike, refusing to participate in cultural events, and they urgently need your support. This fight is not just about politics—it’s about the survival of art, free expression, and identity. Stand with Georgia. Support the fight for democracy! ©Photo by D. Koridze
