Decided to try and bring my MX bike, rider and cinematics to a new standard since the last couple projects I’ve done. It’s a real challenge, a journey with highs and lows. Here is a little update on how things are starting to look, consider this a v1.0. Using, marvelous, substance painter, blender and unreal engine. Animations are handmade. #animation #unrealengine #mx

Ladies night 💃 Each frame was a learning experience, from transferring weight data from metahumans to objects i.e. shoes. But also learning and refining the workflow for baking handmade animations or baking mocap to metahuman and character creator rigs and manual adjust the animations and bake it again. Then it’s ready to be processed in Marvelous designer, bring it to substance painter for custom prints and learn the alembic workflow for this including its material use. Rendered in lumen. Level is custom made with various assets. Rider with black hoody is fully hand animated. Rider on pink bike is mixture of hand animation and mocap. Helmets, clothing and bikes are done in substance painter. Marvelous designer for clothing and Blender for miscellaneous use. Thanks to @goldvizvr for fixing the GoPro mount. The Bugatti Tourbillon v16, me practicing new techniques regarding global illumination, (extra) lighting, materials, rendering (lumen) and especially automotive in general. “Where legends are made” Full version. This project once started with the intro shot as a standalone and eventually developed in to a fully fledged video. There was a lot of practice and optimization involved in order to render it out and a lot has been learned since then. I sculpted the landscape using world creator, created the livery’s and helmet designs in substance painter rigging for @madgoat_studio bike rig in blender, custom track assets (such as cushions) in blender and substance. Additional texturing in photoshop and illustrator, after effects for the display, marvelous designer for trackside cloth and premiere pro for editing it all together. Special thanks to. @alt.cgi for remodeling some parts of the bike for cinematic purposes.
