The splash down of this new VX One recently at Coconut Grove Sailing Club, @grovesailing , shone a light on its hybrid keel. Weighing in at 176Ibs (80kgs), this hybrid keel is a key reason why the VX One makes high-performance sailing fun and accessible to so many sailors.

The @bacardi_regatta kicked off yesterday with 27 VX Ones on the starting line enjoying Miami’s sun and 15 kts of breeze! 🌴🌊🤙🌞🍹
Opening day saw four races for the VX One fleet and four first place finishes for four-time consecutive Bacardi winner Chris Alexander with Gracie Howie and Ricky Welch. Alexander’s team set the pace early. They delivered a clean sweep of the day’s racing and immediately reinforced their reputation as the team to beat in Miami.
Despite the dominant start, Alexander expects the regatta to remain a battle. “We’ve got a good fleet and some really stiff competition,” he said. “I don’t think it’s ever going to get easier.”
The VX One fleet has continued to build momentum in recent seasons, and the strength of the entry list in Miami reflects that growth as teams look ahead to the Class’s first-ever World Championship, also scheduled to take place on Biscayne Bay.
Results after Day 1:
1️⃣USA 400 - Chris Alexander, Grace Howie, Ricky Welch
2️⃣ISV 11 - Tim Pitts, Eric Cusin, Abby Brown
3️⃣USA 275 - Evan Hoffman & Jeff Eiber
4️⃣USA 313 - Kaitlyn Liebel, Mark Liebel, Jordan Wiggins
5️⃣CAN 366- Marc Farmer & Trevor Parekh
