I created the art for our upcoming collab pack with @glitterpartyyy by going full on practical FXs. I half believed it was going to turn out but was truly optimistic. I baked the reel in the oven after attaching the blue glitter with glue for a few minutes, then loaded the tape machine, layered multiple filters on a Nikon FM2. (Quarter strength promist and a vintage star filter). I used @arthousefilmlab 500T film stock and continuous light. A combination of modern LEDs and my favorite dangerous, absurdly hot tungsten lights for the warm accents. To finish the roll I shot a portrait of the snare I recently restored, which actually restored my mental health. The film stock was the icing on top doing the heavy lifting, made it look cinema! Imagine if I shot this on portra oh God! I love film, it enhances reality.

I was super inspired after seeing preservationsound tape loop setup. I wanted to try something similar. Mine is a little more primitive as the hammer will literally touch the tape inside the piano as I play making it super unstable lol but I thought it sounded pretty cool.
I had the @soyuzmicrophones V1 going into the @franklin_audio MP-10 going straight to the Teac on record mode and then the Revox would playback that tape into the DAW. I had a a plate reverb plugin on the master but other than that it’s all tape. #analogrecording #musicproduction #reeltoreel #tapemachine #frippertronics
