One of the most rewarding parts of working in Admissions is, of course, supporting both traditional and post-traditional students as they find the path and education that best align with their goals.
But just as meaningful are the relationships we build along the way—with colleagues at public and private schools, as well as our community college partners. These connections, along with the support of incredible resources like VSAC counselors, school counselors, and career counselors, truly make a difference in how we guide and support students on their journey.
I want to give a special shoutout to the team at The Greenwood School in Putney, VT. Thank you for the thoughtful (and very cool!) gifts you sent our way—it was such a kind gesture.
What we value most, though, is the opportunity to collaborate and support students together through every step of their journey. That shared commitment is what makes this work so impactful.

Had a great time representing Vermont State University as part of the Admissions team at the Johnson campus during Try a Major Day, connecting with prospective students as they explored their interests and future paths.
Grateful to sit in on Hannah Miller’s Education session—they represent the best of Vermont State University and showcases the dynamic, incredible faculty we have at VTSU.
Also a shoutout to Hannah for presenting virtually at our Castleton Admitted Student Day—they helped inspire a student to choose VTSU and to become a teacher.
One of the most rewarding parts of my role at Vermont State University is seeing a student’s journey come full circle.
I worked with this student through the admissions and financial aid process, and it’s been meaningful to see them become part of the Vermont State community. I was also grateful for the chance to visit their business, learn more about their work, and enjoy some amazing empanadas.
Moments like this are why we do this job. Admissions is about supporting students as they find the right program and the right fit for their goals and lives.

Thank you to the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation and Bellows Falls Union High School, for hosting a successful college and career fair. It was great connecting with students to talk about opportunities at Vermont State University and to support them as they explore postsecondary pathways aligned with their goals and interests.
