Mind-blowingly cool to have spent the last month as the Virtual Tech for NBC’s gameshow The Wall with Darkfire Lighting! Working with the team with Carbon & Unreal to help facilitate virtual rehearsals, and then getting to work onsite at Universal as the show was programmed and created was an awesome experience. Can’t wait to keep learning and growing as we gear up for The Voice!
I’ve been wanting to move into Unreal, and was so happy to spend last week with Darkfire Lighting on the first step of a long term project with Carbon! With Unreal and Carbon together, the ability to place cameras and switch between them, the instantaneous rendering, and showcasing all of it in VR as changes are made opens up a whole new world of possibilities for pre visualization and digital rehearsals in my opinion. Can’t wait to be back next week as we move into the larger scale steps of the project, and it’s always a treat when @ansoo.ig is on the console!
I’m so excited to share that I’m one of ten students selected for @electronictheatrecontrols 2022 Fred Foster Student Mentorship program! It’s a huge honor to take part in this incredible program, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to connect with so many amazing people. Head to the link below to read more! :)

Had a blast in Palm Desert last week designing the lighting for the 74th Biennial Kappa Kappa Gamma convention! It’s been a minute since I’ve had some VL4000s but I’m always delighted when they’re in the rig. The animation wheel and shutters make it so I can keep up with any changes the client brings to us, and it’s always a joy to work with @brandonmanyara as Video Director. I was delighted to work with @barthaav again, I always know I’m in good hands when they’re producing the event!
I had such an incredible time on this one, a wonderful way to wrap up my internship with LA Opera with a delightful team!

Maybe my favorite project I’ve gotten to do!!
Photokinetic Lumia Cube Calarts 2022
What started as a bunch of napkin sketches developed into the most challenging and exciting thing I’ve done at school so far. The casing is a 17.5” cube with hand sanded acrylic sides, and the project is inspired by Thomas Wilfred’s lumia! Two laser cut discs with hanging reflective materials spin with synchronous motors housed in the bottom of the piece and on the discs themselves! Needed a slip ring to keep the cables from getting twisted. The bottom has 3 LED COB chips with reflectors and heat sink backing. Better documentation to come, but enjoy some process photos and videos!
Absolute joy to work as the lighting intern this spring at LA Opera!
