I finally finished my very first (large) quilt tonight and this one is JUST FOR ME. I used my Grace Cutie Breeze quilt frame and my Janome M6 sewing machine to quilt it. It’s a large throw. I’ve made baby quilts before but nothing this large. It was a lot of fun but it had its challenges. Now I’m snuggled in my chair with it. It’s called a String Quilt. It’s made from scraps. There are a lot of memories in the scrap pieces. Many were from the 500 masks I made during COVID in 2020-2021. Some are from the baby quilts I’ve made for the grandsons. It’s pretty special. If you take a close up look at the backing, you’ll see a bunch of tiny horseshoes. When I saw this fabric in the fabric store, I just knew this had to be the quilt back. It reminds me of my dad. He passed away in August. He was almost 92. He was a professional and avid horseshoe pitcher for almost 50 years, very active in local leagues and several state tournaments as well as many world tournaments.

I’m making bean bag cell phone stands. I bought enough Chiefs fabric to make 12. These will be gifts but if there’s interest, I’ll get more Chiefs fabric and make more. I’ll sell them for $10 each. You can get these on Amazon for $18.00. I probably won’t get any extra done before Christmas.

Cara’s father-in-law grabbed these screenshots of Cara playing at the Academy of Country Music Honors show last night. So stinkin’ proud of Cara.
