Time truly flies when youâre having fun! Teaching for the first time this semester was exciting, exhausting, and exhilarating.

The @derrickadamsny exhibit at the @icaboston was insane. The diversity of the work, the vision, the message. The pure aesthetics! Some of my favorite work Iâve ever seen. Best Motherâs Day activity ever!

đď¸â¨ Todayâs Art in Print artist spotlight features @vp_visualart . Valerie Prosper Imparato is a Haitian-born artist, illustrator, and muralist whose bold, colorful work draws from East African and Caribbean influences. Her practice centers underrepresented communities, especially Black women, immigrants, and mothers, through vibrant portraiture and storytelling.
Her featured print, âShades of Blue,â comes from an embroidery series exploring Blackness and femininity beyond traditional visual identifiers like hair and skin tone. By using vivid blues, oranges, and reds, Valerie invites viewers to rethink assumptions around beauty, identity, and representation.

So many art things happening right now. Started a new series of Black women at rest to process all the rest I need lately as well as to convince you (and myself) that rest belongs to us and is not to be earned. Having a major art sale. More details to come soon, but slashed my prices A LOT on some of my work (you can check out the website for a sneak peak). Participating in Somerville Open Studios, so youâll be able to see my actual studio, buy some exclusive originals and prints, and have a glass of Rose with me in May!

Thatâs all folks!
âInherited Degenerationâ is officially down. By far my most vulnerable work, and a project Iâm really proud of. Thank you to everyone who came out, who sent a kind word, liked a post, or shared my work. Sometimes as an artist itâs hard to remember what youâre doing the work for. This show is for my daughter. Iâm honored that it resonated with all of you. On to the next! Iâm trying to find a way to post a virtual version of the show on my website, am working on a newsletter, having a major art sale, and am already onto the new series that quite literally came to me in a dream. Love you all.
