The problem with Gen-AI has been the lack of control. However, we’ve developed a method to use Gen-AI as our 3D render engine (apologies to Redshift), which gives us the ability to experiment with materials, lighting setups, and creative direction incredibly quickly and efficiently. This approach allows us to be more creative and rapidly prototype new ideas while maintaining precise control over camera movements, 3D models, and animation.
In this quick demonstration, we used Cinema4D’s powerful physical simulators to transform a basic flat plane into a flower shape. We then quickly rendered the viewport animation as a basic wireframe, which became the input video for Runway. By adding a text prompt, we controlled materials, lighting, and camera settings. The resulting videos were compiled in Adobe AfterEffects with minimal adjustments. The results are impressively fast and the quality is good (although currently limited to 720p). While it’s still early days for Gen-AI video and some minor anomalies occur, the potential looks promising.

When @oxford_product_design asked us to animate their new logo, our goal was to give it a tangible, physical presence - turning a minimal, one-colour logo into something dynamic and full of life. We wanted it to feel like a product with real-world physics.
