a month late to sharing my thoughts on 2025. makes sense considering the world we are living in today, and the world my body’s been living in for just over a year. but here’s a go at it:
never slept so little
never felt time move so fast or slow
always loved you, from the first
always felt more than a little lonely
wondered how i’d make it through each day
wondered how you could grow and change so fast
wept for my old life
wept whenever you got hurt
lost all sense of time
lost me to keep you
smiled to stay sane
smiled for every milestone
read my phone far to much
read dozens of books hundreds of times to you
put a house together
put your first shoes on
journaled nothing for myself
journaled only for you
hoped i’d make it through each day alive
hoped this place would be better for you someday
was grateful for my partner
was grateful for the friends who made an effort
was grateful for you

happy birth DAY my love. the man who held me and massaged me during 20 hours of labor. who makes me feel celebrated always. who plans trips, tickles our baby with his beard, changes 90% of all diapers, holds me up when I feel I can’t go any further, truly never complains even after surviving so much. my everything, my men, my man. doing parenthood with you is the only way I could do it. also here’s to your mamma, cause this sh*t is crazy and your birthday is also hers 🤭💞

2024 tore me apart and put me back together in ways I never imagined⚡️
From the insanity and difficulty of creating a new tiny person, to sharing the news with loved ones, throwing a baby shower to end all baby showers, writing 2 new plays (one performed and one a finalist), writing a pilot, performing with loved ones from NYC to LA, filming not knowing I was growing a human, and seeing friends create magic onstage…it’s been a year I won’t ever forget.
The year of the dragon is near its end, but this little one will carry its auspiciousness within 🐉
you are the best part - thank goodness you were born on this day. this 💕 is 🤮 it’s so sweet.
happy birthaversary love of my life. what do u say? let’s do 8 more years together and at LEAST another 45 of you on this planet? (cause if not i may go insane). 💋💋💋
