Funny as fk and always keen to surf!!!
I’d been shaping at @uwlsurfboards in France that season… around 2005.
Came home to a life in pieces, imminent divorce, heavy stress.
But in it, I found a laser focus on high performance surfboard design.
The UWL crew said, “let one of our team riders stay with you at your house in Burleigh Heads...I
Thought they were crazy… said yes anyway.
The rest was history...and a lot of laughs!!!
At the time I was shaping out of @kirrasurfshop , and Jacko linked me up with Powelly, on tour, former world #2, and one of my all-time favourite surfers!!
Those connections lifted all of us… and catapulted everything forward.
Good times + serious progression.
