DOADOA — VISUAL TENSION STUDY
For this direction, we approached the portrait as a psychological reconstruction rather than a fashion image.
Inspired by Francis Bacon’s emotional deformation and Hannah Höch’s Dada collage language, the face was fragmented into layered versions of itself.
Representing different emotional states, human timelines, and fragments of memory stitched into one identity.
The distortion was intentional.
Not to destroy the face,
but to reveal the tension living underneath it.
Every torn layer behaves like emotional skin:
past selves,
suppressed versions,
survival mechanisms,
and reconstructed identities existing simultaneously within one portrait.
The visible seams, displaced gaze, and fractured symmetry were designed to create controlled discomfort,
a core principle within the DOADOA visual language.
This is not collage as decoration.
It’s collage as emotional architecture.
A portrait suspended between becoming and collapse.
