Join us for Canto Vivo in Concert with TROVADORAS: A Celebration of Women Songwriters of Latin America. This will be an afternoon dedicated to the women whose voices and compositions have shaped the musical soul of Latin America. From Violeta Parra and Consuelo Velásquez to contemporary voices like Natalia Lafourcade and Marta Gómez, this concert brings together songs that have travelled across generations and borders, and many that deserve to be heard more widely. Led by Musical Director Sérgio Pires, Canto Vivo choir will take you on a journey across the continent, from early 20th-century Brazil to present-day Guatemala, weaving together melodies, stories, and histories from across Latin America. READING GROUP SESSION | FREE EVENT Join us on May 12, 2026, for the VLACC’s Latin American Short Stories Reading Group, a welcoming space to explore literature, share ideas, and connect through stories. This session will be facilitated by Professor María Adelaida Escobar-Trujillo, who will guide the conversation and open space for reflection and exchange through two evocative works by Mexican author Martha Bátiz: The First Cup of Coffee and The Rain Coat. Through these intimate stories, Bátiz reflects on memory, identity, and the emotional layers of everyday life.
