We are so excited for the opening of PURPLE RAIN in Minneapolis tonight! Congratulations to Orin Wolf and his entire team.
Thanks to MJ for the photo on the Purple carpet.
I am still trying to process the loss of Betty Bob Buckley . She made such an impact in my early career and was instrumental in my decision to become an arts administrator and ultimately a producer. When I joined Casa Manana in 1980 I worked during the days assisting Betty Bob in the trailer/press office in the off season. What a powerhouse she was. Betty Bob taught me everything I know about public relations. Ever hear of a hand cranked Gestetner machine, well Betty Bob showed me how to use one. One of my favorite memories is when we drove to Dallas to meet Jerry Haynes, Mr. Peppermint, of morning television fame. My brother and I grew up watching him on WFAA and there I was a guest on his show. Her friendship with Bobby Wygant was legendary and when she moved back to Fort Worth there wasn’t an opening night at Casa Manana that they missed. We lost Bobby a few years ago and now Betty Bob. There is a void for sure. Here is a photo with them both at Bay Street in Sag Harbor when Betty Lynn was starring in Grey Gardens. Bobby, Betty Bob, Betty Lynn and me Happy Times!
An absolutely wonderful evening last night at The Museum of Broadway celebrating the 10th Anniversary of An American in Paris. So many friends and so many memories. Thank you Julie Boardman, one of our incredible co-producers for putting it all together.
It’s so very hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since An American in Paris opened on Broadway. Wonderful memories and friends were made and I hold the entire experience as one of the highlights of my career.
So honored and humbled to be included in this year’s Broadway Salutes event at Sardi’s celebrating my 35 years in the business. Actually 45 if you include my acting years. My name appeared in lights in Shubert Alley.
I attended the opening night of OUR TOWN last night on Broadway. It’s expertly directed by Kenny Leon who addressed the audience after the show with a wonderful message of unity for our Country. Emotionally packed, this is a must see if you can. Congratulations to Jeffrey Richards and the entire cast and crew of this outstanding production.
A wonderful night at Pittsburgh CLO’s A Gala Celebration of the Life, Career and Legacy of Shirley Jones. Congratulations to CLO Executive Producer, Mark Fleischer and the star-studded cast: Sierra Boggess, Norm Lewis, Jessie Mueller, Kelli O'Hara and Adam Pascal along with Shirley Jones’ sons, Shaun Cassidy, Patrick Cassidy, and Ryan Cassidy and Musical Director and Conductor Kimberly Grigsby. What a fantastic event.
