This was my first portrait piece. It was fun using different textures of glass (the facial hair and background) and adding sand-blasting detail to the hat. I hand painted the moles with glass paint to color match it to the rest of his face.

Iām wide awake at 5:00a and all I can think about is my art that was stolen and how I wish so much that I could get these pieces back. I only have a pic of this one, and never saw the other matching plate. But I also only made two of this larger size and as nature would have it, the season for these larger nasturtium leaves has passed, so I will have to wait until next Spring to try againā¦
Has this ever happened to you? Itās such a violation of trust, and really leaves a hole in my heart of creativityā¦ itās also been hard to feel confident about creating in this space again without worrying if Iāll get more pieces stolenā¦
Please help, any kind words or if you know anything about the whereabouts of this or an identical piece :/ they were taken from the SBCC Classroomā¦

The angel design is always a big hit š¼ I used clear glue chip glass for the wings this time, and I love how they look feathery! The streaky cobalt is the classic from my original angels. I changed up my foiling technique, using different thicknesses to achieve more even solder lines all around (thin against thin where two edges meet).

Itās been a slow year in stained glass for me, Iāve been trying to get my feet under me I guess, and to feel somewhat financially āsecureā (I have a new Job, selling art by local artists at The Yes Store). Back in the studio today, and I could feel myself being drawn in by the endless possibilities of art to be created. Itās very similar to what I feel when Iām practicing yogaā¦ being in connectionā¦ in the flowā¦the feeling that you wish could also be endlessā¦ when two hours doesnāt feel like enough, and I remember back in my 20ās- how I used to stay up all hours of the night (painting, going out with friends, chatting on the internet) with no worries about how tired I might be the next dayā¦ the kind of youthful timeline that feels like forever. Now at 39, life is moving so fast, it feels like every second must count for somethingā¦ and thereās never enough of it. If youāre still reading thisā¦ this is why I rarely write anything anymore. Thereās so much to say, but who has the time? ā¤ļø
