So happy I ventured off the beaten path to explore this incredible historical site on the way to Daegu. Driving was scary at first but got it locked in like a true Capricorn. ♥️ wouldn’t have been able to see this place without renting the car.

Originally built in 751 CE during the Silla Dynasty, this UNESCO World Heritage site was burned down during the Japanese invasions of Korea (1592–1598) and later reconstructed beginning in 1604. Its stone terraces and pagodas still reflect the vision of the Buddha’s world on earth—resilient, serene, and timeless.

When I first landed in South Korea, uncertainty filled my mind. Culture shock, language barriers, and curious stares overwhelmed me. Yet, as I explored and learned, this experience turned into pure joy.
The city faces a challenge with an aging population and youth moving away, losing 600,000 residents in the last decade. Hopefully, the government will keep working on creating opportunities for people to stay. What I love about Busan is its blend of scenic hiking trails, vibrant street food, stunning beaches, and efficient transport. There is so much to do and see I only touched the surface. Will definitely come back again one day.
Fingers crossed as I get behind the wheel today and head to Daegu! 🚙 ! 💜 ♥️
