The name of our new flagship loudspeaker is MOYA. The name means ‘air’ in Zulu. What do you think of the name of our Vivid Audio MOYA M1?

AWEH is a Salute to the late Pops Mohamed by Dazz-B MusiQ. The late Pops Mohamed is one of South Africa's musical voices of the sound that shaped the British B&W MUSIC (later MELT 2000) label. The 1994/1995 Outernational Meltdown recording sessions in Johannesburg and Cape Town — and the extraordinary journey to record the Bushmen of the Kalahari — left an indelible mark on everything that followed. Sipho Gumede played his part, but it was Pops Mohamed who coordinated and introduced many of the iconic artists whose contributions shaped the uniqueness of a label that grew from a UK base into a true South African cultural institution. When I stepped away from B&W Loudspeakers in 1996 to focus on music, that same pursuit of sonic truth carried forward into MELT 2000. VIVID AUDIO's upgraded GIYA G3 CU and the prototype of MOYA are the tools used to listen and mix at our M2KR studio in Durban. These tools are aligned with the philosophy that created the music in the first place. Original multitrack recordings — many of them rooted in deeply spiritual, ritual-driven sessions from the early B&W Music and MELT 2000 era — every detail is brought into focus. AWEH brings that legacy into the present. Built around vocal samples of Pops Mohamed and the late !Gubi Teitei — tribal elder of the Namibian San family we were privileged to work with — the track is remixed and arranged by Obakeng Kekana aka Dazz-B MusiQ, whose Afro House touch bridges two generations and two worlds without diminishing either. Featured artists: the late !Gubi Teitei and Pops Mohamed. Remixed and arranged by Obakeng Kekana aka Dazz-B MusiQ. From Music With No Name Vol. 5 — Shaman's Promise. M2KR.
