Sometimes I wonder if we don’t abuse technology or use it at all cost?!
Being the brand new owner of a @mercedesbenz GLE hybrid car, I encountered -in my first 2 weeks-a number of near-dead experiences simply because of the aggressive way the “Lane Assist” reacted to non existing obstacles.
These virtual obstacles are very real to the on-board computer, but are merely a shadow or a darker/repaired part of the asphalt.
It pushes the car very abruptly into the opposite direction of the “virtual” obstacle, resulting in very dangerous situations!
Does the use of this technology live up to the car almost hitting a semi or the curbs or else?
Why is there no one at @daimler_ag looking in its rear view mirror to actively deactivate this dangerous feature before people actually get seriously injured because of it or at least make it work properly!
Prior to this message, I have been reading through endless posts of fellow Mercedes owners who are trying to turn this feature off every single time they start their cars.
