When Emma Rochon and Melissa Eapen were young game masters 12 years ago, they wanted asked their boss about escape rooms as a career. The owners replied with “There’s no growth in [escape rooms]. Also though, if you try to make your own company, I’ll sue you”. These famous last words spurred Improbable Escapes co-founders Emma Rochon and Melissa Eapen to quit and start their own company. Today, they have built and designed over forty different games and experiences, including escape rooms, outdoor escape rooms, large event “podium games,” and even a board game café. @improbableescapeshq @improbableescapeswonderland They also started a sister company @visualmenacecreative that builds sets, props, and immersive activations for brands, film, television and music videos. Emma Rochon joins us on REPOD to share her escape room journey in the industry. Big news for PARKIES 🌲 We’ve officially received funding from Ontario Creates - and it’s been a bit of a whirlwind ever since! The past 6 weeks have been packed. We’ve been meeting with incredibly talented writers, consultants, producers, agents, and prodcos. A lot of back and forth to the big city, connecting with people who are genuinely shaping where this project is heading. We’ve got some major meetings lined up over the next few weeks that could be really pivotal for PARKIES. Things are moving. Stay tuned. 🌲 MAPLE ROCK PROVINCIAL PARK - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 🌲 Two of our senior staff members (Ranger Mickayla & Ranger Melissa) will be leaving the park grounds temporarily this Friday to attend the Kingston Script to Screen Pitch Competition at KCFF. They have been granted permission to speak publicly about: • workplace wildlife • generational tension in the forest • minor ranger misconduct • and the importance of properly labeled trail mix 📍 February 27 📍 Broom Factory 📍 Kingston Canadian Film Festival Should they succeed, Maple Rock may receive: – increased tourism – expanded infrastructure – official ranger recruitment If they do not succeed, they will still be required to return to duty immediately. Wish them luck. Or don’t. The forest will continue regardless.

This was the most intensive escape room build we’ve tackled - a year and a half of design, construction, and iteration. The result is something we’re proud to share: Down The Rabbit Hole is officially complete and open as of today. Unrelated to this launch but worth celebrating: the same game design team also received the coveted Golden Lock Award today for another project, The Mysterious Miseries of Franklin N. Stein.
