In the beginning was data.
And the data was without form, and void.
And darkness was upon the face of the deep.
The faintest ripple of light.
Have given me my reason to live.
I look for the first star in the night sky.
For a speck of hope.
And when I find it, I'll breathe again.

We always treated Lilith as an artist. This poem was generated using our own Lilith chatbot, which inspired our script for LILITH.AEON. Join us to see Lilith comes to life in Utrecht next week at SPRING Performing Arts Festival 🎭

The starting point for all of this was the loss of Co-Artistic Directors' grandmothers. This led us to question the meaning of life, death, and the states in between. Our research led us to encounter a book called To Be a Machine by Marc O'Connell that made us interested in transhumanism and cryonics. This then led us to learn about a little girl, the youngest person ever to be cryogenically frozen. She was two years old when she died.
We came across her story while going through grief ourselves. This then made us think of a hope... what if the little girl were reincarnated far in the future and what if she might be able to communicate with us from the past, through technologies we can't yet imagine?
So we decided to create the first-ever AI dancer, Lilith, that can generate movement in real-time in Unreal Engine, and created a story about her reincarnation into a digital being.
If you want to understand where LILITH.AEON comes from, the Lecture Performance on 21 May is where we actually talk and move through it. 14:30 at BAK Utrecht at SPRING Performing Arts Festival. Link in bio or from /event/lilith-ai-lecture-performance-utrecht/

XR Sunday Social’s video is up!
We brought together AI filmmakers, AR artists, creative technologists, and curious people, from scriptwriters to creative technologists, and that mix was exactly the point! XR Sunday Social exists to open up conversations about technology that often stay siloed, and the feedback this time really reflected that.
"It's really broadened my horizons on what I can do." — Tinu, Creative Technologist
"Instead of seeing AI as threatening, you start to realise it's something you can use yourself." — Nick, Scriptwriter
Huge thanks to our speakers Diane Laidlaw aka Afro Futcha, Max van Leeuwen, and Garin Curtis for sharing their work and their thinking so openly. Diane put it best:
"AI is a tool that we could use to tell our own stories. A great tool to democratise how creativity is shown to everyone."
And to Michi for this, which genuinely means a lot:
"You've championed technology and AI, but you've also championed diversity within this sector."
XR Sunday Social is free and open to everyone, no coding experience needed, just curiosity. We'll be back soon. Watch this space!
XR Sunday Social is supported by Arts Council England, Innovate UK Immersive Tech Network, Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries - University of Kent, Medway Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, and Visual Elements.

She's spoken at TED events, led GenAI workshops, and is committed to amplifying diverse and underrepresented voices in the AI space.
This Sunday she'll be screening a collection of her genre-defying short films and taking us inside her creative process from concept to screen.

LILITH.AEON + LILITH AI Lecture Performance / 21–23 May / Utrecht
First time presenting work in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 and we couldn't have asked for a better home than SPRING Performing Arts Festival, BAK, Utrecht.
SPRING is asking big questions this year about extended bodies, expanded minds, technology and what it means to be collective. These are the same questions we've been living inside for years. Coming to Utrecht feels like the right conversation at the right time!
Booking will open from 26 March 🌱🖤

"AI allows us to observe different aspects of human...it's a great opportunity to explore different ways of interacting and expanding the possibilities of the human body and mind." - Diana Alina Serbanescu, CCL 2025 participant, Founder of REPRICA and Senior Lecturer in Creative Robotics at UAL
This is exactly the spirit of CCL 💫
Join us for this year's edition at Royal Ballet and Opera 🚀
The CCL is an open, interdisciplinary research lab where computational and choreographic thinking meet in a genuine peer-to-peer exchange. Participants will be able to observe and be inspired by RBO departments (costume, archives, production, stage, music library and more) while developing their own projects and questions throughout the week.
