20 Steps, 1 Photo 📷
I decided to keep going with this hyperlapse video series, but with a new approach. More intentional, allowing the creation process to unfold rather than rush it💫
On the first day, I began a bit far from the tower, pacing myself at a distance similar to the view from Trocadéro. But as I began turning and weaving through the surrounding streets, the buildings and trees quickly disrupted the flow of the composition. Still, I chose to keep going, curious to see how it would all come together.
But later, back home, watching the raw footage, the magic was missing. The sequence felt disjointed. The visual continuity just wasn’t there in some places and most of the rear of the tower. So, a week later, I returned, this time with a tighter plan. I would walk closer to the tower within a tighter radius and add a new challenge: capture the rear side at night. That added a new level of complexity, especially since sunset now falls around 21h30. But I took advantage of the Nuit des Musées, visited the maritime museum, and then headed down to the tower to begin again.
Twenty steps, one photo. And repeat again and again🎢
🥊When I returned home the 2nd round began. Aligning frames, colors. Then finishing postprod with After Effects (Stabilize, add sounds, etc).
This little project reminded me that sometimes, taking the long way around brings you closer to the story you meant to tell. In the end, the most important thing is that you can be able to bring in the best way what you have in mind. I hope you like it.
