Ramsgate’s Operation Dynamo story has come to life in a GIANT way at our Royal Harbour! 🚢⚓️
Thanks to the bespoke creations by Standing with Giants the display features powerful new silhouettes to honour the heroes of WWII.
The figures include:
* An RNLI lifeboatman
* A civilian skipper
* A Royal Navy officer, representing the men who skippered vessels to Dunkirk
* A Women’s Voluntary Service (WVS) lady representing the women who attended to the exhausted soldiers as they arrived back on our shores
* Three evacuees each symbolising a thousand children relocated from Ramsgate during WWII
These figures now stand proudly alongside an original Tommy soldier at the Operation Dynamo Memorial.
Come and see this moving tribute, part of Ramsgate's Little Ships - Operation Dynamo event, running from 22nd - 25th May!
