What are you doing in St. Augustine this week?
If the pier is part of your usual routine or a stop on an upcoming summer trip, this is a good one to know.
The St. Johns County Ocean & Fishing Pier will temporarily close starting May 13 for repairs to strengthen the structure, with work expected through November 2026.
The north beach access point will be closed, parking near the pavilion will be slightly impacted, and access under the pier will be restricted. Swimmers and surfers should keep their distance while work is under way. The Pier Gift Shop will remain open.
The good news is we will be able to enjoy the pier again soon.

Yesterday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony held at Greater St Mary’s Church marked a significant milestone for our community!
Thanks to the City of St. Augustine Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and Historic Area Community Redevelopment Area (HACRA), this historic preservation project has finally come to an end! With enhancements to structural stabilization, floodproofing, and preservation, the institution will stand the test of time.

It was once home to local conservationist Allen Nease — a pioneer in Florida’s reforestation and preservation efforts in the mid-20th century. He later became Chairman of the School Board and established what is now known as the First Coast Technical College! 🏫
