Hey Lake Lure, it’s been a while. So happy you are back!
Celebrate the return of water in the lake at the grand opening Memorial Day weekend and get ready to swim all summer long. ☀️
A little main-character energy, toddler edition.
Just outside downtown @hillsboroughnc , @ayrmount pairs an 1815 Federal-era home with wide-open lawns, butterflies and the 1-mile Poet’s Walk along the Eno River. How’s that for a family stroll? 🦋

We’re already dreaming of summer in North Carolina. All that’s missing is you.

Did you know? North Carolina has 14 National Park Service sites. They range from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in the west to key National Military Sites in the Piedmont to two National Seashores on the coast. These parks showcase and preserve the state’s natural, historical and cultural spaces.
Here are some things you might not know about North Carolina’s national parks:
• Great Smoky Mountains National Park: The mountains here are considered to be between 200-300 million years old.
• Appalachian Trail: You can become a ‘Citizen Scientist’ through the A.T. Seasons Project and help collect data on flowering plants and migration patterns.
• Guilford Courthouse National Military Site: To experience nature and history up close, walk or drive the 2.25-mile loop Tour Road. Look for the painted logos on the road that help remind you that walkers/hikers stay on the left and bikers/drivers keep right.
• Cape Hatteras National Seashore: More than 350 bird species live here. The seashore is part of the Atlantic Flyway migration route.
