What inspired you to start your business?
I started this business because I was going through electrolysis treatments myself, and it was truly life changing. I never missed an appointment and always looked forward to going. It gave me a level of confidence I hadn’t experienced before, and I knew I wanted to give that same feeling to other people.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about your business?
A lot of people are surprised to learn that electrolysis is permanent and works on all hair colors, including white, red, blonde, brown, and black. Unlike laser, which mainly targets darker hair and isn’t always permanent, electrolysis treats each hair individually, making it a lasting solution.
What do you love most about what you do?
I love seeing the shift in my clients once they realize electrolysis isn’t as painful as they expected and they feel comfortable committing to consistent treatments. One of my favorite moments was when a client gave me a hug and told me she loved me after only knowing me for 30 minutes. Those moments mean everything and remind me why I do what I do.
What’s your favorite thing about being part of the Lenox community?
I’ve always felt a strong connection to Lenox. After working at Lenox Fit for years, I got to experience firsthand how supportive and tight-knit the community is. People here truly value and show up for small businesses, and that’s exactly why I chose to build my business here.

What inspired you to start your business?
The Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum has been a community staple since 1984, but this January marked a major milestone: the transition to professional leadership. As the museum's first Executive Director, I am thrilled to be part of the journey with this passionate group of people. My inspiration for taking on this role stems from the organization’s incredible potential; BSRM is a true hidden gem of the Berkshires. We are currently in a pivotal period of growth, and I am to be included in bringing this historical treasure back into the light for a new generation to enjoy.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about your business?
To me, I was surprised to learn that the museum has been operated solely by volunteers for over 40 years. That includes operating trains out of our Adams location, working on and maintaining the equipment, property management, training, the list goes on and on. That is no small feat, but once I met the volunteers and really had the chance to work with them, I can say I have never met a more dedicated and passionate group of people.
What do you love most about what you do?
I love the vast potential the museum holds. While the museum in Lenox is typically open Saturdays from 10 AM - 2 PM Memorial Day through Labor Day, we also open for special events such as weddings, birthdays, receptions and more. We recently had a film crew on site and that was such a great experience to partake in. The building is stunning and walking through the doors gives you a sense of stepping back into time. Thinking about all the families and generations of people still in Lenox and the surrounding areas that ancestors walked through those very doors is awe inspiring in a way. I think people forget just how pivotal the railroad was to shaping the Berkshires as a whole and may not realize how many families are here today because of the railroad.
What’s your favorite thing about being part of the Lenox community?
The people, by far. In Lenox, there’s this infectious passion for the Berkshires that goes beyond local pride—it’s a deep commitment to the good of the entire region. {Comments}
