For years, the Folly Beach Anglers have helped bring people together through one of the island’s favorite traditions: fishing off the Folly Beach Pier.
Their annual Take A Kid Fishing Tournament has become a meaningful part of summer on Folly, giving kids the chance to learn, fish, and spend time on the water alongside family, friends, and members of the local fishing community. 🌊
This year marks the 15th Annual Jerry Pierce Memorial Fishing Tournament, taking place Saturday, June 6, from 9 am to 1 pm at the Edwin S. Taylor Folly Beach Pier. The free event welcomes kids ages 4-16, with fishing equipment provided while supplies last and prizes awarded throughout the day.
It is the kind of community tradition that reflects what Folly Beach is all about. Time outside, shared experiences, and creating memories that last long after the day is over. ☀️

A day on the pier can turn into a memory that lasts a lifetime. 🎣
Take a Kid Fishing is returning to Folly Beach this June, bringing families together for one of the island’s most meaningful traditions. Hosted by the Folly Beach Anglers, this event gives kids the chance to experience fishing firsthand while spending time outdoors and learning something new along the way.
This year’s event takes place Saturday, June 6, at the Folly Beach Pier. Fishing equipment will be provided free for the first 300 kids, and participants ages 4 to 16 are welcome. No pre-registration is required.
It is a simple idea, but one that continues to bring people together year after year.

Yesterday morning had some of the most amazing colors I’ve seen in a while. I’m so glad I underexposed always shooting manually with film emulations because I get those dense, thick, rich colors.
