Currently, in this beautiful county to check out @lumierefestival . If you are looking for a hidden Italian gem in the North-East corner of England, the place to visit is @coviellowinebar (top left).
Delivering authentic Italian cuisine, it's a restaurant much loved by locals when they need their Italian food fix.
Their satisfyingly moreish meatballs are made with Parmesan cheese, bread, garlic and eggs (top right). It has a deliciously sweet tomato sauce, that will make you crave for extra bread.
I went for their special of the day - scialatielli pasta allo scoglio (bottom left). It's a special from Positano, where you know the pasta will be al dente and you'll be served up a treasure trove of great seafood. Their version had 2 types of prawns, mussels and squid.
I wish I had more stomach space, otherwise I would have tried their tempting maritozzo. You can't go wrong with an Italian bun filled with whipped cream.

Ad: we love everything about @cosyclub_durham 🙌🏻. The views are gorgeous, the ambience is perfect, the restaurant reflects its name - nice and cosy, service is fantastic, but most of all the food is amazing!
They now have a new autumns menu and have added new dishes.
We always get a few sharing dishes to start. We had:
- Monkey Bread
- Beef & Smoked Bacon Croquettes
- Crispy Cauliflower (you might think you don’t like cauliflower, but try this and you will love it. The sauce was delicious).
- Asian Buttermilk Fried Chicken (Sophie pretty much demolished this all herself)
For mains:
- Steak Sandwich (had this before and I can never resist)
- Korean Fried Chicken Burger (this is new and it’s so tasty)
- Burger 🍔 and Fish and Chips from the kids menu (kids both loved theirs too)
Desserts:
- ice cream baskets (kids loved these - they picked their own toppings)
- Chocolate Mousse
- Chocolate Delice
Highly recommend a visit!

Ad: If there was a perfect kind of autumn 🍂 day then this would be it. The sun ☀️ has shone all day with gorgeous blue skies which made our trip to High Force waterfall even more beautiful.
We got to explore the new Autumn Adventure Children’s Trail which is in with the entry cost. You can get a Family Saver Ticket (2 adults & 2 children) for £10 when booked online. If you want a walk and some fresh air but want to keep the kids entertained with something to spot then this is perfect.
If you have never been before, then you need to go, it’s absolutely beautiful. It is one of the most impressive waterfalls you will see in our country!!
We then had a stop off @highforcehotelwaterfall which is the most cosy place. I enjoyed a glass of 🍷 by the roaring fire 🔥 and we had the most tasty Sunday lunch, the lamb was 👌🏻👌🏻. Sophie had the hot roast pork sandwich with chips. I stole a bite and it was so good. (Swipe along for the pictures).
We finished off with a couple of desserts to share/ cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Highly recommend!!

Ad: we always have the absolute best time @holmsidepark 😊. There is so much to do: giant inflatables, soft play, roller skating, mini golf, archery, football and an outdoor adventure playground 🛝.
You can spend the full day going around each area.
They always have the best Halloween 🎃 activities too which will be coming up soon.
Tip: if you are buying food there make sure you order early as it gets quite busy in school holidays when they are busy and you have to wait a little while. The cafe is by the soft play so kids can play while they wait anyway.
