Cres extra virgin olive oil is produced from local olive sorts characteristic for the island of Cres, called Šimjaca and Plominka. It is indispensable in the preparation of island dishes as one of the trademarks of the island of Cres.
Extra virgin olive oil is one of the stars of the Mediterranean diet, which is itself inscribed on UNESCO’s representative list of intangible heritage. The oil is rich in highly valuable nutritional properties, contributes to the preservation of human health, and is produced with great care exclusively from the olive fruit in order to provide unique pleasure in its rich aroma and taste.
