I am absolutely not a morning person. Team night owls forever. But after seeing so many photos of hot air balloon festivals out west over the years, those impossibly blue skies dotted with colorful balloons drifting over the landscape, I knew I wanted to experience it for myself someday.
And wow… there really is something magical about ballooning.
One minute you’re standing in a field watching the balloon inflate, and the next you’re gently lifting off the ground, catching the wind and floating quietly across the Carson Valley horizon as the sun rises over the mountains. No turbulence, no sudden drops, just this peaceful feeling of drifting through the sky while the world slowly wakes up beneath you.
This was our first balloon flight at the @hotairforhope and it definitely will not be our last because honestly… look at those views. Nevada really knows how to put on a sunrise. Thank you @visitcarsonvalley for inviting us out this morning ❤️
