What a vibrant morning it was in Gravesend town centre as our community united to celebrate St George’s Day! The streets buzzed with colour, energy, and pride, as residents, families, and hundreds of spirited local schoolchildren breathed life into the parade. The festivities culminated in a traditional flag-raising ceremony, right at the heart of the celebrations. Moments like these truly capture the essence of Gravesham — a community coming together, soaking in the atmosphere, and being part of something greater. Whether you were in the crowd, participating in the schools or cheering from the sidelines, your presence made this day truly special and unforgettable. A huge shout-out to the team at CohesionPlus for orchestrating such a wonderful event and bringing it all together. 20 Glorious Years of St George’s in #gravesend 📸 Check out some of the highlights from this memorable morning! #ourgravesendstory #stgeorgesday #onecommunity

A Historic Moment in Gravesend! On this beautiful Tuesday, April 21, the Mayor of Gravesham Jenny Wallace, proudly cut the ribbon to unveil the newly refurbished swing bridge at Embankment Marina - Gravesend Canal Basin. This Grade II listed gem, dating back to the 19th century, is more than just a bridge; it’s a vital link to our rich maritime history. 🚢 Once pivotal for the movement of vessels between the Thames and the canal basin, this bridge played a crucial role in supporting industrial transport and defining the boundaries of the Port of London. Its opening today, also completes the King Charles III Coastal Path through our borough. Join us in celebrating this restoration that breathes new life into our heritage! #Gravesend #Heritage #SwingBridge #ThamesAndMedwayCanal #CommunityCelebration

On this Easter weekend, why not take a leisurely country walk through the borough’s historic woodlands? One notable site is the “Cobham Mausoleum” a beautiful structure built in the early 18th century as a final resting place for the 4th Earl of Darnley and his family, though never consecrated or used. The mausoleum is renowned for its stunning architecture and serene surroundings, making it a perfect spot to reflect and enjoy nature. As spring unfolds, the area is adorned with vibrant daffodils, adding a splash of color to the landscape. The combination of rich history and blooming flora offers a delightful experience for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike. Consider exploring the trails, soaking in the fresh air, and appreciating the beauty of the season! #CobhamMausoleum #SpringWalks #HistoricWoodlands #EasterWeekend #gravesham
