The streets buzzed with colour, energy, and pride, as residents, families, and hundreds of spirited local schoolchildren breathed life into the parade. The festivities culminated in a traditional flag-raising ceremony, right at the heart of the celebrations.
Moments like these truly capture the essence of Gravesham — a community coming together, soaking in the atmosphere, and being part of something greater.

A Historic Moment in Gravesend!
On this beautiful Tuesday, April 21, the Mayor of Gravesham Jenny Wallace, proudly cut the ribbon to unveil the newly refurbished swing bridge at Embankment Marina - Gravesend Canal Basin.
This Grade II listed gem, dating back to the 19th century, is more than just a bridge; it’s a vital link to our rich maritime history.
🚢 Once pivotal for the movement of vessels between the Thames and the canal basin, this bridge played a crucial role in supporting industrial transport and defining the boundaries of the Port of London.
Its opening today, also completes the King Charles III Coastal Path through our borough.
