Vision Forward was honored to help host the 2026 Braille Games at Beyond Vision, centered on the theme “What do you want to do when you grow up?” From mastering assembly line workflows to navigating call center operations, students ages 4-21 gained first-hand experience in essential vocational skills.
Collaboration is at the heart of this event's success. Thank you to our partners: Beyond Vision, ABLE, Milwaukee Public Museum, and the Wisconsin Talking Book and Braille Library. We are proud to work together to bridge the gap to future employment for these talented students. 🤝

May is Blindness Awareness Month—a time to learn, advocate, and take action.
Here are a few ways we can all make a difference:
• Learn about the full spectrum of vision loss and share what you learn with others
• Explore and support tools that help people live independently
• Speak up for inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities
And remember—Vision Forward is here to help every step of the way.

Last week, our Director of Children’s Services, Colleen Kickbush, presented “Seeing the Future: The State of Early Intervention for Children with Visual Impairments in Wisconsin” at the 2026 Collaborative Vision Conference in Stevens Point.
Her session explored the current landscape of early intervention across the state, including Babies Count data, vision screening practices, and access to specialized services. She also highlighted key trends, challenges, and opportunities to strengthen early identification, coordination, and support for families.
Thank you, Colleen, for your continued leadership and dedication to improving outcomes for children and families across Wisconsin, and for educating others on this very important topic.
