When I look at these photos, and the vibrant and warm colors they present, I’m reminded of how vastly different #summer2022 was to previous years. This summer was really one for the books, both personally and for my growth as a photographer. For the first time in my adult life, I was able to take time off and spend a vacation outside of the US. Although my experience was rather touristy, being in another country allowed me to document things that I normally can’t. Along with my ever deeper dive into film, I really had to be careful with what I want to shoot since I have a limited amount. The result is a series of vacation photos that I not only can look fondly at, but be proud enough to present to the world. Summer 2022 is the most active I’ve been in terms of photography and with the days getting shorter and colder, it’s becoming more difficult to get myself out there to take photos. In the few hours of daylight, the skies are gloomy and uninspiring. And I really don’t want to resort to night photography. Perhaps I need to rethink my strategy. Summer 2023 is a long way for now, and I need to satisfy my itch to go out and take a photo.

This might be the best plastic point and shoot camera under $100! I bought this #nikonl35twaf on @kehcamera for only $40! The crazy thing is that this camera belongs to the same line of camera as the renowned #nikonl35af! After shooting several rolls, this is why I love this camera!
1. Convenience - I wanted a point and shoot bc it became a slight nuisance carrying my heavy, hunking #nikonf2 whenever I went out and wanted to take a couple of photos. Luckily this camera is light and is pocketable! I was able to take this camera to When We Were Young without security asking me to put it away.
2. Lens - The camera actually comes with two lenses, a 38mm and a 65mm. The 38mm is very good for #streetphotography, while the 65mm can be used for subjects that are farther!
3. Sharpness - The photos that come out of this camera are pretty sharp and detailed which isn’t surprising considering it’s part of the same like as the l35af!
4. Price - When I bought this camera, it really felt like a steal! This body is three times cheaper than a l35af, but with similar capabilities. I feel like this was reasonably priced compared to the money people are charging for an Olympus Mju or XA.
Overall, this was a very lucky find, and I’m glad I bought this camera! I’ll be able to shoot photos during gatherings, without sacrificing quality. This camera will do me well until I can afford a more expensive point and shoot 😌
I highly recommend buying it whenever one pops up for sale!

I started shooting film this year, and at this moment, Fuji film stocks, particularly Superia 400 are my favorite overall for several reasons:
1. Colors - It’s no secret that Fuji color negatives are known to render greens beautifully. I happen to like my photos with a cooler tone with greenish hues, which I realize is not everyone’s preference, but this color palette aligns more with my work. Magenta colors tend to show up more when overexposed, which give photos a pastel look.
2. Grain - The grain Superia gives photos this textured look which adds this industrial look especially when shooting street photography
3. Affordability - Film is not cheap. With the recent resurgence of interest in shooting film and inflation, shooting film seems almost impossible if you’re on a tight budget. However, Fuji films still come at an affordable price while not compromising quality. What I also like is that you can afford to be more generous with the amount of shots you take since this film stock doesn’t burn through your wallet like Portra.
4. Availability - Superia is always on stock somewhere whether it be Walmart, CVS, Rite Aid, B&H, or Adorama. This makes Superia a great film for beginners to pick up since it can be bought locally.

Film is getting too expensive, and I heard that Fujifilm makes really good mirrorless cameras. I rented this XT-5 from @samys_camera in Pasadena.
Realistically, I only shot with it for three days. Keep in mind, I haven’t shot a digital camera since 2023 so I totally forgot that shooting with a digital camera is a different experience. I actually forgot to format my SD card 😅

Bring carless in LA is incredibly inconvenient, considering I can’t go out and shoot if I can’t drive anywhere. I could try to use our public transit, but the sun would probably set before I make it to my destination. Anyways, while I sort my car troubles, I’ve unvaulted these photos from the 2023 Season. Never really used Cinestill 400D, but I think it worked out for this particular shot 😤

2025 was a not a very active year due to personal issues, but seeing all the reception in the last three months for my photos makes me thankful for not only the friends that have been supporting my work, but the strangers who appreciate it. Even if I haven’t a lot this year, some of my favorite work came out in the few times I walked around and shot. Big ups to 2026! Looking forward to another year of documenting the streets, and growing as an artist 🙏
