Okay, this is going to be a long one. Full recap for @tx2k ‘26! This event was the first time I’ve been in the car in a YEAR! The guys (Matt- I’m talking about you) spent time working on the car and improving bits to be sure it was ready to go for this season. We started off testing Tuesday with some bugs to work out. The car was just fighting me every bit of the way and would not hook. I was able to click an 8.8 during testing which boosted my confidence a ton. Qualifying rounds came, and we fought some more with a 9.2 as our best time. Finally, during our very last qualifier, we did it. An 8.2 @ 167mph which not only put me back in the field, but was a personal best for me as a driver! Elimination round 1 I was paired with Jaz. I was able to beat him on the tree and take the holeshot win with a 8.14 @ 176mph, another pb. E2 I had to race my buddy Nick @nickbuilt , he definitely gave me a run for my money but I came out on top that round with a 8.3 @ 175mph. Of course, semi finals come and I have no other than Matt @mattybugeye from @insomniamotorsports . Unfortunately, he had an issue with the car so he had to abort the run giving me the win into the final with a 8.10 @ 170mph, yet another personal best for me. Final round I was able to cut a great light, but unfortunately the car spun and based on how it felt, I decided it was best to get out of it. Overall, EXTREMELY happy and beyond grateful. Everyone worked so hard to get the car ready and worked even harder to get it dialed in for me at the track. More videos and photos coming soon (after I get some sleep) but for now, all I can say is… wow. I am truly blown away by this week. We managed to run pb after pb once we dialed the car in. No testing done prior to the event, and with a new setup, we made it to the x58 FINAL at tx2k! As always, a huge thank you to John for the opportunity to pilot this beauty. Matt and the team worked so hard to get the car ready for this event. I can’t thank everyone enough for believing in me and supporting me as a driver. I set a personal goal to qualify in the field, but never thought a trophy could be in our hands at the end of it. That 7 second pass is in my near future so stay tuned! While testing a new converter combination along side our dump valve system we managed to once again come the realization that these cars at this power level need real TCM tuning. The dump was activated and shortly after it short shifted. If you take a look at the dragy g meter graph what you hear translates onto the graph. So most likey the next step is a standalone TCM controller. This shows how much is left on the table. This platform is amazing and we all truly enjoy being apart of it and everyone who is on the ride with us.
