•• oc:cura part II von III 26.04.2025 Im @artrmx Einlass - 19:00 Uhr Programmstart - 19:30 Uhr •• foto 1 credit @julessch0ex slide 5 & 7 credit Lino Ehrenstein • oc:cura is funded by the European Solidarity Corps and supported by @rrcgn

࿇ SHE SAID YES ࿇ ⁀➴ On the 26th of September 2024 I had my loved ones (and some lovely officials) gathered to witness and participate in the performative wedding ceremony which presented the climax of almost a year’s work. ⁀➴ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐲 describes both the process and the outcome of critically examining the blueprint of ritual marriage in our predominantly white, heterosexual society. The core conflict lies in the tension between deconstructing the dominant narratives surrounding “the most beautiful day in (a woman’s) life”—a demystification of the fairytale—and envisioning and realizing a ceremonial counter-design. This process was marked by an ambivalent emotional journey, fluctuating between a deep, resolute rejection and a compelling fascination with the idea of the own hypothetical (traditional) wedding. The bride, as a mythologized transitional figure and central character in the spectacle of the White Wedding, is both a self-proclaimed protagonist and a living projection surface for patriarchal, economic, and religious ideologies. Through a socio-historical and socio-political analysis of popular wedding rituals, the work seeks to challenge systemic implications and imagine a ceremony that transcends oppressive dimensions. Driven by the search for this (utopian) realm of possibility, where the bride makes a vow to herself, the work inevitably raises questions about community beyond the nuclear family, love beyond romance, and care beyond dependency. ♥ photos slide 6, 14, 16 & 17 @julessch0ex ♥ video recording @90lynoe09 ♥ textile & fashion design @soldieroff ♥ ceremonial script @hotb111000111 ♥ sound @claudiussyter ♥ maid of honor @o_0megavybe ♥ wedding cake @uschielfi ♥ supervision @charlotte__rohde @jajajajaja_nenenenene ♥ department @bauhaus.typography ♥ veil stitching @studio.stich ⁀➴ Extra special content will follow to honor the marvelous contributions of my dear collaborators and friends that made this thing as whole as it could be. I love you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
