if you know me, you know I’m a sucker for bread, olive bread, corn bread, any bread! So when @reneemelides called me to go to a mill East of Paris and photograph all things baguette-related for @nytimes I thought this was a message sent from heaven. Had such a fun day at Moulins Bourgeois, a milll supplying flour to 1,000 bakeries in France.
You can go read the article written by wonderful reporter Liz Alderman at the link in my bio or in today’s paper & Friday’s international edition! It’s entitled “Bread Prices Skyrocket as Inflation Grips Europe”.
These photographs were made possible with the help of my dear friend @jadeannest and Renee’s guidance & warmth.
Thanks also to the Moulin Bourgeois for welcoming Liz, Jade & I and to all the people we were able to talk to!

Thrilled to see pictures I made this summer in Coney Island out in @wsj
Met people on the plastic runway as they left the beach to head home. At sunset, beachgoers walk up that blue path with all of their belongings and suntanned skins and we become spectators of a movie unfolding before our eyes.
Many thanks to all the families and lovely individuals that I met through these portraits, you all looked fab ✨
This work would not have seen the light of day without the help & support from my great friends @omerkesemkaplan@ahickeysituation & @zoe_freilich -
you made these trips to the beach so fun and memorable!
And of course, THANKS to @pia_peterson 🍀

"I appreciate all the different opportunities to be outside in calm areas in the day and come back to a vibrant city at night," says @violettefranchi , who drove the South of France last summer with her father.
Your itinerary, as told by the Paris-based photographer: "Take day trips and explore inland regions such as the Mercantour Park and hike in the Valley of Wonders, driving to small villages to see an exhibition and stopping by canyons and spring waters." She also recommends taking short train trips from Nice to access more remote, intimate beaches – or, even better, take advantage of the proximity to Italy!

"Swim, sweat and swim again." Summer in the south of France in a nutshell as told by photographer @violettefranchi . Sunrise on a remote beach, sunset along Nice's Promenade des Anglais – "there’s always an opportunity for a swim," she says. Beyond these dips, Franchi's favorite thing about her Provence summers is the duality. She can start her day with a hike in the Valley of Wonders and end it with drinks with friends in the old town.
