🎬✨ Introducing Topher — @tophertownmusic
From a challenging childhood to the Air Force, from political commentator to rap artist to Bible quiz creator, Topher has reinvented himself on TikTok time and time again. His song “The Patriot” hit number one on Billboard. He was one of the plaintiffs who took on the Supreme Court to protect TikTok.
As Topher himself said behind that podium: “I largely credit TikTok with the fact that my music has been streamed over 100 million times. The streams mean income for my family and the joy of knowing my music is reaching people around the world.”
He fought for creators. He fought for families. He fought for the platform that changed his life.
We can’t wait for you to see the energy he brings to the big screen in June! 🍿 #tiktokneverdies #tribecafilmfestival #tribeca2026 #documentary #topher
✨The next member of our cast — the incredible @chloejoysexton (@chloebluffcakes on TikTok)🍪🧈🎂
Chloe Joy Sexton has built a community rooted in family, resilience, and the kind of love that shows up even in the hardest moments. She started creating baking videos as a means to financially support her family, and what happened next she could have never expected. TikTok amplified her story, allowing for her cookies to ship all over the world, and she even published a cookbook.
When she lost her mom to brain cancer in 2022, Chloe became her younger sister’s guardian. Through her grief Chole kept showing up for her audience with her recipes, her baking history deep dives, and her life.
And when TikTok was at risk of being taken away, Chloe was one of the plaintiffs who took on the Supreme Court ban. She stands for every woman who joined TikTok to find their dreams and build financial independence while taking care of the people they love. Thank you Chloe for sharing your story! ✨🎬💛 #tiktokneverdies #chloesgiantcookies #tiktok #documentary #tribeca2026
We are beyond excited to introduce the first member of our cast, the incredible @btypep 🎬✨
From his daily coffee rituals to turning McDonald’s into a five star experience, Steven’s content has always shown that he leads with his heart and his humor. But Steven’s dedication to his craft goes beyond content. He was one of the plaintiffs who stood up and fought against the Supreme Court ban on TikTok because he understood what was at stake. Not just for himself, but for every creator who poured their heart into building something real. He knew the app was worth fighting for.
He is a comedian, a storyteller, an advocate, and someone who has worked incredibly hard to get here. We are so lucky and grateful to have him be part of this film, and we cannot wait for you to see what he brings to the screen this June. 🍿❤️
We are OVERWHELMED with gratitude 🥹✨ Our world premiere is SOLD OUT and we genuinely cannot believe it. Thank you to everyone who grabbed a ticket, we cannot wait to be there with you!

I’m extremely thrilled that our new film TikTok Never Dies will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in the Spotlight Documentaries section.
Grateful and honored to have the trust of the incredibly talented filmmaker Hao Wu to produce this critically timely film.
There is so much that this “little” app TikTok is shaping in our democracy. I hope this film sparks many conversations we can—and should—be having with policymakers, with friends, and, perhaps most importantly, with our children about who controls the narratives behind social media.
This film came together in a tough moment for independent documentaries. We are grateful to the people who helped make it happen especially for @btypep@chloesgiantcookies@tophertownmusic for trusting the team with their stories.
And our wonderful team:
Director and Producer: Hao Wu
Producer: Violet Du Feng
Executive Producers Jamie Chen and Joey Marra
Director of Photography: Martin DiCicco
Design & Animation: Alex Epureanu-Buzera
Composer: Chad Cannon
Co-producers Mette Cheng Munthe-Kaas, Nora Nivedita Tvedt, Alexander Baertl, and Sophie Levy
Additional cameras: Brett Wiley, Derek Howard , Kevin Shaw, Myles Gordon and Xinyan Yu
Editing Consultants: John Farbrother Lucila Moctezuma
Special thanks to Firelight Media, Stiftelsen Fritt Ord and Bergesenstiftelsen for their crucial support.
Grateful to everyone who trusted this story and helped shape it.
