This weekend I’m playing Das Rheingold. I always forget how difficult the viola part is. The Rainbow Bridge is a nightmare for various reasons, not least if we’re playing off the edition where all the divisi is on the same page meaning there are only 4 bars to a page.... and today there are only 5 of us to cover 6 parts.
I’m playing in this lovely concert and it would be lovely to have some friends in the audience. The venue is a few minutes’ walk from Southgate tube. St Andrew’s Church, Chase Side, N14 5PP, Saturday 20 November 19:30.
