Viola Relle
@violarelle is showing ceramics and works on paper whose contrasting characters create a morphosis that invites you to immerse yourself in a world of possibilities and forms. Like thoughts becoming tangible in space, Viola Relleâs sculptures emerge from the dialogue between material and transformation. Their surfaces bear traces of fire and water, of heat and coolingâof the elemental forces that shape them. Some appear as carefully assembled structures, others conceal their fragmentation beneath a seamless exterior. They shift between architectural presence and organic form, between construction and dissolution, never settling into a singular identity.
Viola Relle (b. 1992, Budapest) lives and works in Berlin. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, specializing in the Sculpture for Ceramics and Glass class under Professor Nicole Wermers. From 2017 to 2018, she pursued a Masterâs Degree with Professor Markus KarstieĂ in N. Prangenbergâs class. In 2016, she was awarded a scholarship at Rutgers University, New Jersey. Relle has held solo exhibitions including Bring me back to earth at Galerie RĂźdiger SchĂśttle, Munich, Menschen leben at Markus LĂźttgen, DĂźsseldorf (2019), and some group shows, WARM at A+B Gallery (2024), Flirren ist menschlich at Neue Galerie di Gladbeck (2024) and verschachtelt at Neue Galerie Landshu (2024).
