It’s hot, we’re stuck on the Nile, and tensions couldn’t be higher. Which of these suspicious looking passengers could be a murderer? This opening weekend was absolutely fabulous- and we’re back tonight with a sold out show 🄳 Can’t wait to see you all in the audience!

Kay Ridgeway has led a charmed life. Blessed with beauty, enormous wealth, and a new husband, she embarks on a honeymoon voyage down the Nile. Fatal circumstances await when the idyllic surroundings are shattered by a shocking and brutal murder. Under scrutiny is a multitude of memorable passengers, all with a reason to kill. The tension and claustrophobia builds, as a shocking and audacious conspiracy is laid bare. Jacqueline used to be Kay’s best friend… but she now seems intent on ruining this Egyptian honeymoon. Could jealousy be enough motive for murder? Over 60% of tickets sold and we haven’t even opened yet! Don’t miss out!

Who knew writing reviews could be so hard?! I loved the challenge of writing a 600 word review within 24h- and learned a LOT throughout this process. Today marks the final day of working with the Young Critics Program and I’ve decided I’m keen to continue exploring my reviewing practice in the future! If you’re curious about what I wrote in my first review, you can find it published on @thebigideanz and @aucklandartsfestival websites✨

@manootnoot.rainey and I had the opportunity to chat to @perlinalau on @rnznewzealand this past week - all about reviewing, the Young Critics Program, and our hot takes on shows we’ve seen as part of the @aucklandartsfestival . It’s been a really fascinating experience to watch shows as a reviewer and lots of my prior misconceptions about reviewing have been debunked! Massive thanks to the @indianinktheatrecompany for opening doors to these creative opportunities. Also shoutout to @manukaluitenapirana for the šŸŽ„ and being our #1 supporters!ā¤ļø

The news is out! Over the past month, I’ve been quietly exploring what it means to be a theatre reviewer and learning all the ins and outs through the @aucklandartsfestival Young Critics Program. It’s been a wild ride!! I had the pleasure of talking to @perlinalau about it on @rnznewzealand ā€˜s Culture 101 this past Sunday! Will be sharing some snippets of the reviews I’ve written soon- and you can listen to the full radio interview online 😊

The Actors Program 2025ā¤ļø I’ve tried writing this caption so many times- and each time the words fall short of communicating just how much this year has meant to me. The program, the tutors, the cohort - I’m so greatful to have met you, worked with you, laughed, cried, learned and grown with you all. It’s been an incredible year. And it sounds clichĆ© but I genuinely can’t wait to see what the future holds✨ @theactorsprogram @emilia_radisich @aimeexmaria @emiilypattersonn kimberlylow @katherinedewar @kate_in_flow @niallyates @_harrietmorris @olive_nz @amyvanleeuwen_ @billy.rmc @kais_azimullah @connormagatogia @isabella.k.t @ella_blake_brislen @daretoseekfreedom @tainui.14 @_xavierpaul_ @teohorerewilliams @benjamin_henson @jessibwilliams

VIOLA EMBER || CRESCENDO This is it! The culmination (crescendo if you will) of months of training, tears and laughter - often all at the same time. In this final chapter, I bring to life the stories of some fiercely intelligent women - each fighting in their own way to be heard, to be free. Kissed by death and darkness, by roaring, churning storms and eerie murmurations of starlings, these women are beautifully complex, refreshingly human. As I hold hands with Mary (Mary: The Birth of Frankenstein), Abigail (Piano/Forte) and others, I hear the tuning of guitars, the trill of a piano, the crescendo of voices. Don’t miss out on experiencing it for yourself! The ultimate jam sesh awaits. CRESCENDO || 2025 Showcase || 20-29 Nov šŸŽŸļø Tickets on sale now! šŸ”— Link in bio šŸ“ø@delilah.images ✨@violaember
