The foundation was formed in 2018 with 500 successful A-list AAPI founding members, who each contributed US$ 25,000 worth of material assets— whether mentorship, donation or investment. By connecting executives across industries, financing new ventures and reshaping AAPI portrayals, the team aimed to promote positive depictions of AAPI people onscreen, in boardrooms and in the media; today, Gold House has become the first call for anything Asian in Hollywood because of their finger on the pulse of the community—either for their access or to ensure cultural authenticity.

So it turns out there are no Buffalo in America. So that song about Buffalo roaming in America was misinformed. No bad intentions there to confuse the American public about Buffalo being present, but they actually were Bison. We may call them Buffalo but technically, taxonomically they are bison. Anyways, I’m not a bison nor a Buffalo so I really can’t tell these beautiful creatures how they should self identify. You do you. Graze where you wanna graze. Please don’t attack me as we enter your nature preserve in our Honda insight; we are merely here to appreciate your beauty and your scent and grunting sounds. We can coexist.
It’s been just a few days past my two year mark moving to Taipei. My parents and I were COVID refugees from SF, intending to only stay for a few months and then returning to SF to resume our lives. But something about being here caused us to get stuck. We felt safe here, surrounded by the incredibly friendly folks of Taiwan, many of whom were new to the place, but many of whom had lived their entire lives here. Everyone was so kind, generous with their time and communities. I saw a lot of the same people on a regular basis, something I hadn’t experienced in a long time. In Taiwan, there is truly a sense of place, of being with the people nearby, breaking bread, cracking jokes, making memories. There is truly something for everyone - the families, the elderly, the youth, the fit folks, the degenerates. While we had no idea we would be here this long, we are proud to call Taiwan home now. Come on out for a visit some time, feel free to stay a while. #taiwanisopen
