Another @leidenmarathon under the belt - 2 hrs 18 mins. A race which when running, was fantastic fun and glorious. We could have even gone faster if I wasn’t waving and cheering so much! @terryvanvelthooven was as ever, the wonder buddy guiding me through thousands of runners and uneven footing. Friends and family supported from the sidelines and our beloved @runningblindleiden group came together to celebrate our freedom and fitness. When we finished, however, we got to hear the sad news that a 15 year old girl had collapsed 4 km from the finish and had died. A tragedy in every sense. Our love and thoughts are with her family, friends and school mates for whom the Leiden Marathon and Mother’s Day will always have another meaning.
While so much has changed in 27 years, Hong Kong friendships remain as strong as ever. So damn good to see you @hkpoet14 Hester Chan and Emily Chen đź’•
Last stop: Hong Kong, love at first sight!
Being able to spend the last two weeks of Gilles’ trip with the three of us was very precious indeed. We literally ate our way through this amazing city. Here are some of the restaurant we ate at: T’ang Court, The China Club, Yardbird, Peng Leng Jeng, Arcane, Tai Woo, Ho Yin Banquet. We had cocktails at Bar Leone, the number 1 bar of the world and a few rooftop bars. Can’t wait to come back!
