Every time you stand under a different sky in a new place, you often wonder how life would have been if you belonged to that place.
How different your experiences would be.
How you would wake up in a different house while it snows outside and you walk to work, eat meals you have never tasted and sit on this bench with your friends having a cup of coffee.
What would have happened if your soul had chosen a different body in a different part of the world.
And if a parallel universe exists, I hope a version of me is experiencing this world differently.
Being born in a family which didn’t have much money, this moment of me standing under European sky posing for a picture clicked by a fellow tourist from Brazil felt like a dream so far fetched; I never thought I would ever experience this. How can I ever put into words what this moment means to me, how huge this achievement has been for me.
I come from a state where few generations back women weren’t taught to read or write so they couldn’t write home to inform them about the torture they were subjected to at their in-laws' home, and few generations later I stand here only because the women who came before me fought tooth and nail for their rights. As I stand here I won’t forget for a moment how every feminist has led my generation here.
Here’s to one of the best years of my life and many more magical moments that are yet to happen.
In the words of my sister ( @some_ink_inspiration ): This is a my prayer for myself- May my heart never know defeat- in love, in ambition and spirit.
Today I spent 3 hours sitting on my desk gathering courage to make a phone call which lasted 5 minutes and was rather fun but it took me 3 hours to dial the no.
I spend hours every week just shaking off my social anxiety when it takes hold of me (I am usually not successful in doing so).
So, here is a picture of me from last weekend which I love because it took me years to get clicked this freely in public. 17 years old me would have been happy that I reached this stage.
Thanks to @matargasht who taught me the art of posing 😂
It's an unsaid rule between the three of us that everytime anyone sees a frame they want to capture, the other two have to quickly go and stand in it. Here are these two following the rule on a cold winter evening.
